Happy Tuesday 4th Grade Families,

We hope you enjoyed your long weekend!  We will take time today in Language Arts  and Social Studies to reflect back on all that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did to make a difference in our world.

A friendly reminder that all fourth grade students need to be picked up inside the courtyard area not outside the gate. Please refer to the Parent/Student Handbook for further details.

English Language Arts

Students will be expected to log into Google Classroom and Thinkcentral.com this week to complete homework assignments. ALL students have their usernames and passwords for each account in their agenda. Each child is familiar with the log in process and has been able to access this information from school multiple times with no problems. Should a problem arise, please have your child make an appointment to see me before or after school.

There will be a spelling test on Thursday, January 19th.

There will be a reading comprehension and grammar test on Friday, January 20th.  The grammar skill will focus on possessive nouns.

Social Studies

We will be focusing all of our attention on Arizona the remainder of the school year. More importantly, we gear up for our state's 105th birthday, which is in just a few weeks. The students will become experts on Arizona and design a birthday card, which will include fun facts.

The students will look at week 5 of our AZ Studies Weekly Newspaper and go on a webquest to find out facts all about Arizona.

Math

The students will use multiplication, addition, and subtraction to solve multi-step word problems. They will also need to use tape diagrams and area models.

There is a x7s test on Friday.

Science

We are working on Chapter 5, lesson 2: The Moving Crust. The students will learn about how natural disasters can change Earth's crust.

Religion

We are reviewing the Sacraments of Initiation, which include, Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
